Chetwynd

Chetwynd enjoys a quiet location to the north-west of the campus, just a short walk from the Queen’s Sports Centre, playing fields, netball courts, and Astro pitches, with The Central Dining Room also nearby.

Its beautiful views and sense of tranquillity offer the girls a peaceful space away from the busy centre of the School.

Chetwynd is a safe, happy, and supportive ‘home from home’ for the girls. I always strive to create an environment in which the girls feel they are understood, supported, and recognised as the individuals that they are. We celebrate their achievements and acknowledge their contributions to House and School life, and in turn, ask the girls to support each other, to cheer each other on, and recognise that our community thrives when we come together.
I encourage the girls to try everything we have on offer at Charterhouse and to make the most of their time here. They will make wonderful memories in their time at Charterhouse, they will learn new skills, make lifelong friends, and grow into independent and intelligent young women, and Chetwynd and House life is a fundamental part of that journey. It is a real privilege to be part of their journey and watch them flourish.

Chetwynd is a warm community that welcomes everyone and treats everyone with respect. It is a House that values kindness and support for each other before anything else. You will find that, in Chetwynd, there is a great variety of abilities among pupils, ranging from academics, sports, and art. Everyone’s individuality and contributions are cherished, and there is a strong unity among pupils, regardless of the year group. The Head of House is a great mentor who leads by example.
Chetwynd is a happy place, and it has become a true home away from home.
