Exam Results

Our examination results reflect the ambition, dedication, and academic strength of our pupils, supported by exceptional teaching and a culture that promotes academic excellence and encourages every individual to be academically aspirational.

Results matter. They help to open doors towards exciting future opportunities and form the academic foundation for university and beyond.

However, they are one part of a much broader Charterhouse education. We believe in developing curious, independent thinkers who are well-prepared for life, not just for exams. We are committed to developing genuinely future-ready young people, well-prepared to succeed in a fast-changing world, and equipped with the skills and values needed for the decades ahead.

Specialist (Sixth Form) Results 2026

We are delighted to celebrate another year of outstanding Specialist A Level and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme exam results.

Across a cohort of 218 pupils taking A Levels or the IB Diploma, an impressive 90% of papers were awarded A*–B grades (or equivalent).

This excellent performance across such a large cohort highlights not only the talent, dedication, and ambition of our Specialist pupils, but also the expertise and commitment of the subject beaks who supported them through stimulating lessons and generous provision of clinics and revision sessions.

We celebrate the outstanding achievements of our 2026 IB cohort. Two pupils achieved the maximum 45-point score, a feat attained by only 0.2% of candidates worldwide, while one-third of the cohort secured 40 points or more, equivalent to A*A*A*A* at A Level. Nearly three-quarters achieved 36 points or above, and the average IBDP score this year was an exceptional 38 points, equivalent to A*AA at A Level. Reflecting both the academic strength and ambition of the cohort, more than 95% secured places at their first-choice university. These excellent results once again place Charterhouse amongst the strongest IB-performing schools in the country.

An impressive 86% of A Level examinations were graded A*-B, opening doors to the most prestigious universities in the UK and around the world. Carthusians are globally minded and ambitious, and this year's leavers will take up places at elite universities across the UK, North America, and Europe, including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, LSE, Princeton, Duke, UCLA, and UC Berkeley.
