Lockites

Lockites was designed by the son of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, architect of the Memorial Chapel, and was formally opened by the Queen in 1975.

Conveniently located close to the Central Dining Room, Queen’s Sports Centre, golf course, and playing fields, Lockites enjoys a lovely view over Under Green.

With modern shared amenities and common rooms, alongside dedicated new girls’ and boys’-only areas, Lockites pupils benefit from the experience of a mixed boarding environment as the House moves steadily towards becoming girls-only from 2028.

Welcome to Lockites – a House where every day is an opportunity to grow, excel, and support one another!
As your Head of House, I’m thrilled to welcome you to a vibrant, coeducational community built on the belief that success comes from effort, enthusiasm, and encouragement.
Our spirit is embodied in the phrase “Why not try?” – a guiding principle that encourages everyone to step out of their comfort zone and embrace new challenges.

Lockites is more than simply a boarding House; it is a real community. The positive and constantly encouraging atmosphere enables each person to thrive and realise their greatest potential. The staff and pupils alike serve to support, but also to spur us on to greater things.
