Pageites

Pageites is advantageously situated near the Central Dining Room, Queen’s Sports Centre, Astroturfs, and golf course, with lovely views across the playing fields.

All members of the House have individual study bedrooms from the Remove (Year 10) onwards. In the Fourth Form (Year 9), there are three double rooms in the new wing, and everyone spends at least one term sharing during their first year.

Our aim in Pageites is to provide an environment that feels like a home away from home, where all members of the House are appreciated and valued as individuals.
The boys are given every opportunity and encouragement to develop their intellectual curiosity, enthusiasm for learning, and academic ability, as well as their many individual interests and talents.
Throughout their time in the House, boys develop self-confidence, self-reliance, teamwork, leadership, and social skills. In the Under School, boys help with the day-to-day running of the House, and all First Year Specialists are given opportunities to take on specific responsibilities before playing key roles in their final year.
My main advice to pupils is to take advantage of all the amazing opportunities on offer here at Charterhouse – and to live by the maxim: “The more you put in, the more you get out.” It’s really true.

Life in Pageites is as varied as you want it to be. I’ve found that it’s possible to take part in any number of activities and practise them at an inter-House level. The spirit within the House encourages everyone to join in with whatever they choose and provides comfort when you first arrive or whenever you’re not feeling your best. The boarding environment promotes strong friendships and greatly improves social skills, while the privacy provided by single rooms gives each individual the space he or she needs.
