This year’s House Hockey has delivered an outstanding conclusion to a highly competitive season, with spirited performances and thrilling finals across multiple year groups and Houses.
Senior House Hockey – Weekites Win
by violet, second year specialist (Year 13)
House Hockey was an amazing event this year, and my house, Weekites, won after a brilliant display of teamwork and determination.
Playing a fast-paced seven-a-side format, we first faced Fletcherites in a competitive semi-final, where our communication and structure helped us secure a strong win. In the final against Northbrook, the team stepped up again, showing confidence, cohesion, and real drive, ultimately winning the match and the overall tournament.

Removes House Hockey – Northbrook Triumph
by Cleo, Remove (Year 10)
House Hockey was an excellent representation of this year’s season. We cruised comfortably through the group stages with outstanding performances all round. Passes flowed, and goals followed. From the first whistle, we showed confidence, determination, and teamwork.
With the semi-finals taking place, the team spirit did not falter, and neither did the performance. An impressive win saw us through to the final.
A few team goals in the first half left us in a good position at half-time. A big substitution showed our squad depth, and we looked content right up until the final whistle as the passes continued to flow and the chances kept coming. Once again, the trophy was ours.

Lou Batty Cup – Duckites Victorious
by bluebell, Remove (Year 10)
Winning the LFB Cup with Duckites was one of my favourite moments at Charterhouse. From the first whistle, our energy was unmatched. Everyone was shouting, involved, and giving everything. Even when matches got tense, we never let our heads drop. I am proud to say that right until the last shuffle, we gave it our all. As someone who loves hockey, it felt incredible to be part of a House that fought hard, kept smiling, and truly believed we could win.
The atmosphere made it even better. Every house brought amazing spirit, with faces painted, kits on, and constant support. Our confidence only grew as we pushed our way to the final match. When the last whistle blew and we realised we had won, the chaos and pride were unforgettable. It was not just a win, it showed who Duckites really are and what we can achieve. Huge thanks to the coaches for organising such a fun tournament.

Fourths House Hockey – Chetwynd Crowned Champions
by tiggy, fourth (Year 9)
In our House Hockey, we worked well as a team and communicated very well. We were strong on our attacking front as we passed the ball quickly and made good runs. We also stayed on the posts when trying to take a shot.
Our first matches were against Northbrook, Weekites, Lockites, and Sutton. They were good games, and each House played well. However, we managed to win these matches comfortably.
In the semi-finals, we played Lockites. It was a close match. Both teams were really good and strong, but we managed to progress to the final in the end, winning 3-1.
The final was extremely close. Fletcherites are a strong side with amazing players. Our tactic was to keep a low defence. We defended for most of the game with Fletch pressing the attack. In the end, we got a break and managed to score. In the last five minutes, we scored again, leaving the score at 3 – 2. It was a very stressful match, but we managed to hold on to that score even though Fletcherites were knocking on the door.

The atmosphere throughout was competitive yet genuinely fun, with everyone supporting each other, playing with energy, and showing the spirit that makes House Hockey such a highlight of the Quarter (term).
