Pupil-led AI workshop showcases Charterhouse’s vision for future-focused education.
Charterhouse’s commitment to developing AI literacy, entrepreneurial thinking, and real-world innovation was brought to life recently through the AI GenBuild Workshop, a pupil-led initiative that introduced First Year Specialists (Year 12) pupils to the exciting possibilities of AI-powered app creation.
The workshop originated from an idea developed within the Charterhouse Entrepreneurship Diploma, where pupil Jan (First Year Specialist – Year 12) explored how emerging AI tools might empower young people to become creators rather than simply consumers of technology. Building on this concept, Jan designed and delivered a hands-on experience that enabled pupils to develop their own digital solutions using Lovable, one of the world’s leading AI app-building platforms.
As an official education partner of Charterhouse, Lovable is providing pupils with access to cutting-edge technology that allows them to build working applications with little or no prior coding experience. Throughout the workshop, pupils identified real-world challenges, explored entrepreneurial opportunities, and rapidly developed AI-powered prototypes.
The event brought together several key elements of Charterhouse’s growing innovation ecosystem, including the Charterhouse Entrepreneurship Diploma, FutureU, and The Hub, demonstrating how these programmes work together to help pupils turn future-focused ideas into action.

Jan was joined by Mati Remi from Bronto, a recognised figure within the AI builder community, with support from Sandip Patel, Director of Entrepreneurship. Together, they guided pupils through the process of problem identification, product development, presenting their ideas, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and confident experimentation with emerging technologies.
More significantly, the workshop represents one of the first tangible examples of Charterhouse’s broader vision for AI and entrepreneurship in action: pupils developing expertise, sharing knowledge with peers, and creating meaningful solutions using powerful new technologies.
As Charterhouse continues to expand its AI initiatives and strategic partnerships, opportunities like the AI GenBuild Workshop will play an increasingly important role in preparing pupils for a future in which creativity, adaptability, technological fluency, and entrepreneurial thinking are more valuable than ever.
