A group of pupils from the Unity Pupil Action Committee visited Edgeborough to deliver a pupil-led session on the School’s We Belong strategy, sharing the importance of inclusion through presentations and interactive workshops.
The visit saw Charterhouse pupils take full ownership of the event, beginning with a talk to the entire Year 7 cohort before moving into smaller group workshops. These sessions combined meaningful discussion with engaging roleplay activities, creating an afternoon that was both educational and enjoyable for all involved.
My time at Edgeborough was a really rewarding experience. It not only boosted my confidence, but also helped me develop my public speaking skills and showed me how much I enjoy working with and supporting younger pupils.

The workshops focused on communicating the values behind the We Belong initiative, encouraging younger pupils to think about inclusion, community, and global awareness in a practical and accessible way.
Presenting at Edgeborough was an amazing experience that showed us the importance of communication. We helped the whole of Year 7 understand the importance of Unity and our We Belong initiative, instilling a sense of global awareness. I found it quite inspiring that they responded to new ideas with enthusiasm. I’m very grateful to have had this opportunity!

The impact of the session extended beyond the day itself, with visiting pupils continuing to reflect on the experience afterwards.
An Edgeborough pupil came into my boarding house the week after the event for a Future Joiners event and said that they had been in the audience and had loved it.

The Charterhouse pupils presented the information with great confidence and gave the Year 7s lots to think about. It was lovely to leave them in the workshops – I am sure we will build on the discussions, the posters, and how we can move forward as a school community.
