Charterhouse Middle Manager Training Programme Receives Princess Royal Training Award for Second Time

The Charterhouse Family of Schools is celebrating the reaccreditation of its Middle Manager Training Programme with a prestigious Princess Royal Training Award, marking the second time the programme has received one of the UK's highest honours for learning and development excellence.
The award recognises the programme's impact across the Charterhouse Family of Schools, where it has strengthened leadership capability and supported professional development. According to the Princess Royal Training Awards assessment, the programme has contributed to reduced staff turnover, fewer employee relations cases, and a 31% promotion rate among participants.
Administered by the City & Guilds Foundation and supported by HRH The Princess Royal, the awards recognise organisations whose investment in training delivers measurable benefits for people and organisational performance. Charterhouse joins a select group of organisations recognised this year for excellence in workplace learning.
Developed for middle managers across Charterhouse, Edgeborough, Windlesham House, and Amesbury, the eight-month programme focuses on practical leadership and people-management skills while creating opportunities for colleagues from different schools and departments to learn from one another. The programme aims to equip participants to lead with confidence, purpose, and compassion, while strengthening collaboration across the wider organisation.

This year, 56 organisations achieved the Princess Royal Training Awards standard following applications from across the UK, Ireland and, for the first time, organisations with an international training reach. Charterhouse's recognition underscores the continuing success of its leadership development approach and its commitment to investing in people across the Family of Schools.
