Exam Results
Our examination results reflect the ambition, dedication and academic strength of our pupils, supported by exceptional teaching and a culture that promotes academic excellence and encourages every individual to be academically aspirational.
Results matter. They help to open doors towards exciting future opportunities and form the academic foundation for university and beyond.
However, they are one part of a much broader Charterhouse education. We believe in developing curious, independent thinkers who are well-prepared for life, not just for exams. We are committed to developing genuinely future-ready young people, well-prepared to succeed in a fast-changing world, and equipped with the skills and values needed for the decades ahead.
Specialist (Sixth Form) Results 2025
We are delighted to celebrate another year of outstanding Specialist A Level and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme exam results.
Across a cohort of 211 pupils taking A Levels or the IB Diploma, an impressive 85% of papers were awarded A*–B grades (or equivalent). Among our top 150 pupils, that figure rises to 97% A*–B.
This excellent performance across such a large cohort highlights not only the talent, dedication, and ambition of our Specialist pupils, but also the expertise and commitment of the subject beaks who supported them through stimulating lessons and generous provision of clinics and revision sessions.
We celebrate the outstanding achievements of our 2025 IB cohort. 63% achieved 37 points or more (the equivalent of A*AA at A Level). An impressive 69% of subject papers were graded 6 or 7 (the equivalent of A/A*), while 94% were awarded 5 to 7 (B–A*). The average IBDP score this year was 37.2, and the average UCAS points score for Carthusians this year was 211, equivalent to A*A*AA at A Level, underlining the added value recognised by universities in the IB Diploma. An exceptional 80% of IB candidates secured a place at their first-choice university.
Over half of our pupils taking A Levels achieved AAB or better, opening doors to the most prestigious universities in the UK and around the world. Carthusians are globally minded and ambitious, and this year’s leavers will be taking up places at elite universities, including a dozen at Oxbridge or Ivy League, as well as institutions in the US, Canada, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, and beyond.
