Entrepreneurship at Charterhouse is about more than ideas – it is about turning ambition into action through real-world experience, creativity, and resilience. Across the School, pupils are developing ventures, learning from success and challenge, and discovering what it truly means to build something of their own.
BRK LONDON – Daniel, Remove (Year 10)
I founded 'BRK LONDON', a premium essentials brand made sustainably in Portugal. Our first drop (Saturday 6 December) is a custom tracksuit designed with elevated details and made to fit all sizes.
Working on the brand taught me far more than I expected, from understanding how manufacturers work to choosing better fabrics and thinking about sustainability in real products. I learned how much detail goes into fit, quality, and design, and how important communication and patience are when creating something from scratch.
Building BRK LONDON has given me hands-on experience in product development, manufacturing, branding, and problem-solving, and it has pushed me to keep exploring entrepreneurship at a young age.

Trunk Bums – Arthur, Second Year Specialist (Year 13)
I founded 'Trunk Bums', a swimwear brand centred on a two-layer design that improves comfort, fit, and style for men.
The concept was developed to solve ‘trunkbumitis’, the itchy, uncomfortable feeling caused by damp swimwear, and to remove the need to wear underwear beneath swim trunks.
I created early prototypes with a manufacturer in Portugal and refined the branding, packaging, and product through testing and customer feedback.
Building the business has given me practical experience in product design, manufacturing, e-commerce, and marketing, and has inspired me to continue exploring entrepreneurship.

Young Business Showcase
During Leave Weekend, four remarkable young entrepreneurs from the Under School stepped beyond the hashroom (classroom) and into the real world of business at the Young Business Showcase in Hammersmith. With more than fifty stalls lining the outdoor market, our pupils proudly stood among founders from across London, selling their own products and ideas to genuine customers.
Despite the pouring rain and challenging conditions, our pupils demonstrated exceptional perseverance and professionalism. Far from being discouraged, they quickly learned one of the most important economic lessons: external factors such as weather can significantly influence consumer demand. With every passing shower, they adapted their sales strategies, refined their pitches, and found ways to stand out, proving that resilience is one of the most valuable entrepreneurial skills.
Throughout the day, they learned how to showcase their products effectively, communicate their value with confidence, and pitch compellingly to customers walking by.

These are skills that cannot be fully taught in a classroom but are developed through real experience, real conversations, and real stakes.

This event is exactly what the Entrepreneurship Society aims to offer: authentic opportunities for young people to test their ideas, grow in confidence, and discover what it means to bring a venture to life. The four founders who took part represented the Society with maturity, passion, and creativity.
We look forward to supporting them as they reflect, refine, and continue building their ventures. For these young entrepreneurs, this is only the beginning.
Evsey, Fourth (Year 9), won the 'Best Sales Pitch' award at the Showcase for his incredible candle business idea:

I built my candle business off the idea that Christmas is approaching and that candles are a great product to sell. I started with simple experiments at home and slowly learned how to make clean, long-lasting vegan soy candles that felt genuinely premium without the expense. Through the fair, I figured out how to source materials, price my products, design my branding, and speak confidently to customers at my stand, leading to winning an award for Best Sales Pitch at the business fair. The whole experience taught me how to run a small business on my own, and it helped shape my idea of how to run my business: a handmade, eco-focused candle company built on quality and care..
