As part of the Year 9's digital learning programme, pupils have developed app ideas which culminated in a live final during Artifex week. Industry specialists visited the School to hear pupil ideas in a Dragons Den style afternoon. Pupils delivered an amazing variety of ideas.
On 16 June, the Economics department held the inaugural Charterhouse 2.0 monetary policy competition. Teams of Year 12 pupils were set the task of producing a 10 minute presentation on how they would control inflation if they were the Bank of England. The competition was hugely popular, with 10 teams entering – accounting for more than half of all economists in the year group!
There was a packed audience of pupils, parents and staff for our visit from bestselling author Raynor Winn on Monday. Raynor spoke about the remarkable story of her and her husband, Moth, being made homeless and receiving news of Moth’s diagnosis of a terminal illness before setting out to walk all 630 miles of the South West Coastal Path.
The IB Diploma Programme has been taught at Charterhouse since 2011. Every five years, the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) reviews how every IB World School is delivering the Programme. We are delighted to share our latest Evaluation Report confirming that the IBDP is being delivered to a very high standard.
Our Year 12 A Level Biologists are currently developing their sampling and statistical techniques in the very special coastal environment of Pembrokeshire.
Last week's STEM fair was a huge success with pupils from both Charterhouse and Edgeborough enjoying a range of hands-on demonstrations and experiments.
Congratulations to our pupils for excellent results in the recent Biology Olympiad! We are delighted to report that our pupils received two Gold medals, three Silver medals, and two Bronze medals, a further two Highly Commended and five Commended.

On Thursday, our Recitation Competition was judged by the poet, Antosh Wojcik. Our congratulations go to the winners Maya and Toby. After the pupil recitations, we were treated to Antosh’s moving performance of one of his own poems exploring his grandfather’s dementia.
Congratulations to our Classicists who competed against local schools in the Guildford Classical Association Reading Competition. Justin picked up First Prize in the Senior Greek. We're looking forward to a further performance next term at our own Modern and Ancient Languages Speaking Competition.
