His Majesty's Theatre

His Majesty's Theatre

We had the privilege of welcoming prospective pupils to His Majesty’s Theatre for their Performing Arts Scholarship auditions on 30 January. The performers were greeted by none other than 'The Phantom' himself, Dean Chisnall, before heading to the Dome Room to display their talents.

As the birthplace of what we now know as the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, the Dome Room – where they took their auditions – is steeped in history and is still in use today by the current company of The Phantom of The Opera, starring our Director of Performing Arts, Dean Chisnall.

Thursday 30 January was a date I shan’t forget in a hurry as prospective Charterhouse pupils came to His Majesty’s Theatre for our Performing Arts Scholarship audition day. I’m lucky enough to perform in that beautiful building eight times a week - something I never take for granted. To be able to extend an invitation to auditionees and their parents was beyond magical, and I hope we created long lasting memories for all the families involved. It was a truly unique opportunity, and one no other school could offer, and the panel were blown away by the talent on show.
